For CFOs · Defensible record

A decision record your auditor will actually thank you for.

Helm Office gives the finance office an institutional memory it has never had: every decision, every rationale, every approval — captured, timestamped, exportable.

The shift

From firefight to operating rhythm.

Two columns. Left: the day the role runs today. Right: the day Helm Office runs for the role.

Finance reality

Drag
  • Board pack rebuilt from scratch every quarter, prior context buried in old slides.
  • Investor replies drafted four times across three threads before going out.
  • Audit asks recreate decision rationale months after the fact.
  • Material decisions made over coffee, never written down anywhere defensible.
  • Confidential conversations live in inboxes anyone with admin access can read.

Finance on Helm

Cadence
  • Atlas pulls prior decisions, open commitments, and history into every board pack draft.
  • Signal drafts investor and board replies in your voice — every send queues for your review.
  • Verdict captures rationale at the moment of the decision, not three months later.
  • Confidential memory is tenant-isolated, role-scoped, never used for shared training.
  • Audit exports run in minutes — actor, timestamp, payload, on demand.

Sample artifact

A board update, prepared and waiting for approval.

Signal drafts the update; Atlas attaches the rationale and the linked decisions. Nothing leaves the office until the CFO approves.

Board update — Q3 reforecast (draft)

Signal · awaiting CFO approval

Proposed message

"Q3 reforecast attached. Net revenue revised −3.1% on EMEA enterprise slippage; gross margin held at 71.4% on improved cloud unit economics. Recommendation: hold the previously approved opex envelope; revisit hiring plan at the November session. Detail in appendix B."

Rationale on file

Linked to Verdict entry V-1184 (CRO confirmed pipeline coverage 2.4× vs 3.2× plan, July 22) and Atlas note on contract pull-ins from Q4.

What finance and legal will ask

The procurement-grade answers.

Is decision history admissible for an audit?

+

Verdict and the audit log are read-only in product, exportable as CSV or JSON with actor, timestamp, and payload reference. Tamper-evident chain on the roadmap; today's posture supports financial and SOX-style internal control reviews.

Where does customer data live and who can see it?

+

Workspace-scoped storage with per-workspace encryption keys. Role-based access. No customer data is used to train shared models.

Do you offer a DPA, SCCs, and a subprocessor list?

+

Yes. Standard DPA with EU/UK Standard Contractual Clauses on request, subprocessor list under NDA during procurement. Custom terms negotiated in good faith.

What about SOC 2 and HIPAA?

+

Helm Office is not SOC 2 certified today; we operate against SOC 2 control mappings with a planned Type I report. We do not market as HIPAA-eligible and do not offer a BAA today. We will not claim either before they are real.
